And One for the Ecclesiastical Hierarchy of Angels

And One for the Ecclesiastical Hierarchy of Angels

Today, we woke up and found out that we would be stuck in Mont St Michel another day.  We couldn’t get a train to Beaune until tomorrow.  We also found out that, while Steve and Liz were super nice, they were booked.  Luckily, there was a campsite nearby.  Will was elated.  We were gonna sleep in the woods.

Steve drove us out to Mont St. Michel.  If you don’t know, it’s a pretty badass looking castle thing.

Will and I went around.  There were awesome views of Normandy and Brittany’s beaches because it’s right on the border, arms, armor, boat models, and other neat stuff.  There was also a huge abbey/castle thing.  Will had seen it before, so he did not climb the abbey because it cost money.  I had not, so I did.  It was badass.  There were cool pillars and a big statue of St. Michael kicking ass and taking names.

After Mont St. Michel, we took a series of busses back to St. Marcan, where the hostel was.  We paid Liz 5 Euro each to do our laundry, and it was totally worth it.  It’s so nice.  We had another dinner at the Oystercatcher, and then we went up to the Creperie for dessert.  Will had a butter/sugar crepe and a caramel/whipped cream crepe.  I had a chocolate crepe and the most magical crepe in the world.  It was called a Crepe Breton Glacée.  It had caramelized apples, whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream.  It alone cost more than Will’s two combined.  It was worth every Euro.

We stopped by the wifi café again, and then we headed up to our campsite.  We bike-locked our bags to a tree, tied our daypacks to our sleeping bags, and slept under a tree.

Dear Joe,
There is happiness at the bottom of the bottle.  If you haven’t found it yet, just try the next one.
Love,
Will and Andy
